Designer - Digital and Print

Ready to do some work that will be noticed and appreciated? This is a visible, contract-to-hire opportunity for a conceptual designer who is a 'thinker' who works independently as well as collaboratively with others. You don't need hand-holding and have the ability to take complex information and turn it into visually appealing and impactful work; both print and digital. You like to push the envelope in terms of design, and you're also able to work within existing style guides and brand.

In this position you will:

• Collaborate with multiple Marketing teams to complete tasks on schedule and according to specifications
• Create and execute on graphic concepts, yours as well as others
• Design infographics, brochures, documents, posters, product sheets, booth banners, and other materials for print production
• Design email banners, advertisements, website graphics, social media graphics, blog article banners, and other materials for online use
• Design and develop PowerPoint slides for internal and external presentations
• Retouch photographs as necessary
• Maintain creative files and assets in the department database
• Coordinate with external printers and other vendors to ensure printed and online materials are submitted according to the company’s quality standard, and within the projected budget and timeline
• Assist Graphic Communications Specialist with the coordination of regulatory review and approval process of marketing communications materials
• Support other marketing communications-related initiatives as necessary


You have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or associated field
• Expert working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe CC Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro)
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Capable of creating illustrations and infographics that effectively communicate market data and company processes
• Expert knowledge of color space, printing processes, color separation, grid layout, and use of master pages/slides
• Advanced knowledge of digital design, such as web and mobile-device graphics
• Excellent understanding of typography
• The ability to ask questions and gather necessary information to create impactful and effective marketing and sales deliverables
• Experience presenting ideas and information in a clear, concise, and organized manner (written and verbal); listen to others to respond effectively to ideas and questions
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while still adhering to deadlines
• Desire to learn and willingness to take on new responsibilities
• A strong sense of accountability and responsibility
• A portfolio that you're proud to share
• Digital AND Print samples in your portfolio
• Presentation samples in your portfolio
• An understanding of code and working with developers and solid knowledge of responsive design and the possibilities and limitations of responsive development
• Ability to "run with" data and direction and not be hand-held
• 3+ years of experience in an agency or in-house corporate design group
• Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus
