Design Group Manager

Aquent is currently working with a Financial company in Boston in need of a Design Group Manager. The right candidate will be
responsible for the design integrity of marketing communications projects (collateral and direct mail) and programs through strategic direction, development of tight creative concepts and seamless execution. This person will lead a team of design associates. Ensures work is consistent with client/Marcom design quality standards.

Additional responsibilities include:

*Some one who can put together a campaign (print to web)
*Someone who understands information architecture
* Understands XML and html to help facilitate communication to web team. Conceptual skills around web design. Web is designed to the lowest denominator.
*Bring fresh direction and insight to creative while maintaining defined design standards
*Pursue design excellence by evaluating work against both creative peers and the mutual fund industry.
*Develop/maintain a thorough understanding of Clients business and assigned channel/business areas
*Participate with partners in developing marketing and communications strategies
*Seek opportunities to brainstorm new strategic or execution ideas with design partners
*Effectively manage partner expectations regarding design deliverables
*Assist in working toward brand/design integration
*Develop/sustain solid working relationships with business partners through the communications strategy development and *Independently manage multiple complex and strategic projects/initiatives from initiation to completion for clients and the investing public
*With editorial, create tight, strategically solid creative concepts
*With editorial, offer innovative, cost effective communications solutions to meet business objectives
*Evaluate assigned channel/business area collateral and make proactive recommendations
*Review all work submitted to ensure its quality, strategic integrity, and appropriate integration
*With Communications Management, effectively manage business partner expectations
*Identify and implement improvements based on post-mortems and observations
*Clearly and creatively articulate creative/strategic recommendations and MarComs *Facilitate effective creative and messaging discussions with MarCom and or/with business partners that result in clear direction
*Champion MarCom-developed material, effectively articulating the strengths and strategic rationale of the work
*Present clear, effective, logically structured communication strategy documents
