The Design Director is responsible for translating strategies into stories across assigned brands while ensuring that concept, art direction, and design are on-brand and on-strategy. The Design Director focuses on the visual design of the project and works closely with copywriters and other creative team members to deliver brilliant, cross-platform solutions. The Design Director is a client-facing role, therefore excellent presentation skills and the ability to speak strategically are a must.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS • Create innovative design solutions including graphics and/or environments for key brand visual assets. Key focus is on ideation, concept development, branding, and collateral materials • Create presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts. Lead presentations to Associate Creative Director, internal partners, and appropriate external vendors • Work in collaboration with project team members to ensure client expectations and engagement requirements are met • Create innovative and thoughtful design solutions to complex brand and communications problems • Actively gain knowledge of current trends, color, technology, and other related design influences. Use knowledge and research to create innovative solutions • Identify, engage and manage vendors such as photographers and illustrators, as needed • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a highly organized and detailed manner
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • Graduate or undergraduate degree in related art or equivalent visual design • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with brand identity, advertising, and website development; minimum 4 years within brand identity
