Database Marketing Analyst

The Channel Licensing Analyst will combine sharp analysis and business judgment along with solid communication skills to support channel marketing planning, strategy and data operations. We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence pro to help support data-driven decisions with ad hoc and recurring analyses. You will work with the marketing, product, and community teams to develop and curate reports and educate team members. The ultimate goal is to move the organization toward data based decision-making.

Responsibilities:
• Play a pivotal role in supporting the channel marketing team through business analysis and development
• Collaborating with multiple functions (Marketing, Field, IT) to deliver integrated solutions to key business partner questions
• Structuring and framing analytic approaches and providing thought leadership to ensure that insights are both grounded in a clear understanding of the business and are actionable
• Hands on working with data in the form of flat files, or with a relational database (thus strong database skills is required)
• Recommend and implement changes that will drive increased return on marketing investment and better efficiencies across channel partners
• Identify, develop, codify and share marketing best practice processes across functions of performance tracking, reporting, and list management; prepare presentations and clearly communicate findings from initiatives to senior management and to the broader organization
• Provide recommendations to continue "closing the loop" in measuring effectiveness of channel marketing programs on sales outcomes
• Provide channel licensing perspective as overall route-to-market (RTM) effectiveness framework is developed

Requirements:
• Must have expert knowledge of accepted customer relationship / database marketing best practices
• Job requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and extensive practical experience in analyzing marketing data.
• Advanced degree a plus.
• 5+ years database and channel analysis experience
• Ability to speak the language of Marketing, Sales and IT in order to translate requirements and manage the analysis and reporting from a strategic perspective.
• Self-starter, with a curiosity to explore data and bring novel approaches to quickly solving business problems.
• Must be flexible, able to balance multiple projects concurrently and enjoy a fast-moving, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively while setting priorities with business stakeholders; manage cross-departmental relationships.
• Ability to develop succinct story lines with clear recommendations for executives
• Experience with SQL or other relational database tools required. Ideally you have worked with more than one db platform.
• Experience with Microsoft Sharepoint and BI tools like PeformancePoint to build dashboards/reports, and to enable to users to access and build reports themselves.
• Experience with ETL and Data Transformation Services.
• Experience with SAS and Business Objects or other business intelligence tools a plus
• Experience partnering directly with channel resellers on analysis initiatives a plus
• International experience a plus
