Data Quality Analyst

Aquent’s client, located in downtown Minneapolis is looking for Data Quality Analyst. This is a contract role, on-location at 40 hours a week. (Must be on-location, no remote please)
Contract length is approx. 9 months, with a STRONG opportunity to extend if things are going well.
*Please note there is no relocation offered for this role. Applicants local to Minneapolis area please.

This role will be responsible for the execution and improvement of data quality processes to ensure standards for relevant, high quality and accessible data are met and continually improved. Analyzes trends, identifies root cause issues, and communicates quality issues. Ensure that data is consistent, available, and accurate and fit for business use.

1. Performs testing in order to ensure data quality.
• Define test data needs in partnership with IT. Develops test cases/scripts, performs test execution and analyses of test results.
• Implements new testing methods and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that the testing is completed on time and meets all functional requirements as defined.
• Verifies test data, executes test scripts, and verifies results.
• Maintains and recommends improvements to the test library.
• Works with the data governance teams to ensure data governance requirements and standards are met. Provides input for the data governance requirements and standards.
• Plans and defines criteria and makes go/no go decisions from a quality perspective. Leads test planning, ensuring testing covers all integration points.

2. Monitor ongoing data quality
• Ensures that quality methods and procedures are executed.
• Troubleshoots complex data quality problems.
• Defines parameters for data integrity and compliance by performing data cleansing, data audit and/or data validation.
• Develops data/information quality scorecard.
• Identify and initiate new quality controls.
• Develops quality assurance processes early in the process/development and extends to source systems.
• Recommends methods to strengthen data integrity, quality and availability of information for the business, while tying back to enterprise-wide expectations. Provides business data expertise on technology projects.

3. Documentation/Communication of Quality Issues
• Provides context and training on data source (how data works and data frequency).
• Documents all data quality problems and issues. Ensures in their resolution and partners with systems owner to proactively minimize future issues.
• Escalates, and communicates on defects and partners to develop and communicate quality reporting to key stakeholders.
• Acts as a first-line resource for reactive response for data questions and quality issues.
• Communicate quality metrics, issues and resolution to business clients; serve as a primary data expert on underlying business rules and data sources.
4. Ensures that the data quality monitoring of SHR and Confidential data is handled according to laws, regulations, and company guidelines.
5. Perform ad-hoc data analysis / profiling of data
