2D/3D Visual Designer

We have an incredible opportunity for an experienced Visual Designer who can help us bring our next big idea to life. This candidate is expected to help develop and implement the look and feel of the various aesthetic and UI-related graphic elements in our products as well as help design and implement a cohesive visual brand, brought to life using motion and depth.

You must be able to think at both the “big picture” and the pixel level to help articulate and define the design aesthetic through rapid, ‘lo-fi to hi-fi’ iteration. You should have a fresh, current, design aesthetic with an impeccable eye for graphic design, color and motion expressed through a confident mixing of 2D, 2.5D and 3D approaches. A mature and practiced understanding of graphic styles, typography, visual hierarchy, motion graphics, and branding as well as icons, logos and user interface design is required.

Candidates should be well versed in current creation tools like After Effects and Photoshop and have 3D skills in a modern 3D application such as Cinema4D, Maya or Modo. The right candidate will be equally proficient as an asset creator and as a designer, and comfortable switching between the two modes frequently.

This individual is expected to bring creativity, efficient communication and high impact to the product visuals and collaborate effectively while working closely with the Art Director, Design Director and software developers. You are both knowledgeable of design history and up-to-date on current trends in entertainment mediums and technology, user interface/experience and able to adapt a design for several target audiences across multiple devices and platforms including the mobile space.
The ideal candidate should be highly organized, self-motivating and able to adapt and learn in a fast paced environment while working with the latest technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Art Director, Art team and Design Director to define and drive the visual language and style for the overall products and user experiences
• Create fresh, performant and compelling graphic elements and animations balancing strong aesthetics with clear functionality
• Create motion graphics and visual elements in a variety of styles and forms, mixing 2D, 2.5D and 3D techniques
• Use motion design to bring informational graphics, data and narrative concepts to life with clarity, impact and fun
• Actively contribute to and help drive the visual communication and brand identity needs of both the product/experience and the team, including logos, posters, presentations, etc.
• Provide creative and innovative solutions to complex visual and interaction problems that are easy to comprehend and implement
• Visual development: create sketches, storyboards, wireframes, pre-viz, walk-throughs and paper prototypes to communicate your design to the AD and the rest of the team
• Iterate in low fidelity to arrive at the best possible design then execute at increasingly high fidelity to create and deliver shipping quality visuals and content
• Always approach a challenge from multiple angles, and deliver a variety of solutions
• Actively participate in creative discussions and reviews, as part of effective communication with team members across disciplines
• Contribute in all phases of product development including hands-on crafting of experiences, designing and creating assets and visual elements

Primary Qualifications:
• Experience in entertainment media and design with an emphasis on graphic design, motion-graphics, and user interface visualization
