Required Qualifications • BA/BS desired
• Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience
• Advanced understanding of Photoshop, Maya, and Z-brush (or equivalent)
• Advanced understanding of mapping UVs for efficient texture use and consistent pixel density
• Strong skills translating concept art and reference materials to 3D models
• Strong skills painting textures and creating shaders—color, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, height, UV, and incandescent maps using 2D/3D application(s)
• Experience with both hard and soft surface modeling
• Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to work in a variety of styles
• Strong understanding of Rigging and animation principles

Responsibilities • Work with the Director, Art & Design, and Senior Art Director to determine style, look and level of quality of 3D art for the game
• Collaborate with other departments (concept, design, tools, programming, etc.) to determine 3D art and layout
• Work with proprietary in-house tools to ensure art is implemented appropriately in the game engine(s)
• Model environment in high polygon detail and optimize for performance
• Model characters and character assets (clothing, hand-held props, etc.) in both high polygon and lower, in-game resolutions
• Create hand-painted textures for both characters and environments
• Work with both internal and external art teams to maintain art direction, continuity, and quality for the game
• Experiment and innovate with emerging techniques and art software/programs to improve quality, efficiency, workflow, and pipeline
