3D Artist

We are looking for a versatile and experienced Technical Artist who loves inventing, troubleshooting, and documenting content tools and workflows for 3D artists. You are a consummate problem solver and boundary crosser who loves working with peers from production, art, design, and technical development.

You are up-to-date and knowledgeable about trends in 3D creation, real-time content and real-time engines. You should have a strong understanding of pipeline and workflow tools and methods.

The ideal candidate will be great at:

- You can create high-quality 3D models, realistic next-gen textures and set pieces, for real-time rendering, based on the needs of the project.
- You are proficient at high to low-poly modeling, optimizing 3D models for real-time rendering.
- You can make a significant, direct contribution to the creation of 3D art assets.
- You’re an expert at understanding of next-gen game asset development processes, limitations and dependencies.
- You can create 3D models from examination of real-world objects and photographs.
- You can capture and enhance textures from real-world objects and hi-res photographs.
- You work and collaborate really well with other disciplines to deliver on the vision.
- You can quickly create prototypes, illustration and concept art.
- We work on short cycles and you’re comfortable delivering your best work with tight timelines.
- You are open-minded when you approach content creation. You challenge convention.
- You are comfortable researching and creating new content as required.
- You take ownership of a vision and you see it through to completion. You seek out and implementing feedback to constantly improve and refine the content you create.
- You are task-driven, self-motivated, and proactive.
- You have leadership abilities and you’re comfortable with extroverts and introverts alike.
- We have non-negotiable deadlines and you thrive working against the clock.

Required skills and experience:
- 3-5+ years of experience in creative development using 2D and 3D programs, with multiple shipped products.
- Superior eye for light, shade, color and details.
- Focused attention on the end user experience.
- Demonstrable experience in 3D asset creation for real-time rendering.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Strong team attitude.
- Experience with texturing and lighting inside a real-time rendering engine.
- Expert in modern 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Maya, SoftImage and Z-Brush.
- Professional portfolio demonstrating strong core art skills is required.
- Expert in digital image creation and editing tools including Photoshop is required.
- Proficiency in world building tools.
- Graphic Arts experience .
- User Interface design experience.
- A creative, resourceful problem solver that proactively communicates and can operate and collaborate to the highest standard within a team structure.

For PORTFOLIO SUBMISSIONS:
- Examples of high-resolution modelling, both organic and hard surface.
- Examples of full set design and scene management.
- Wireframe and isolated renders of relevant models, isolated texture work examples.
- Demonstrate understanding of next generation texturing and use or normal mapping.
- Please include comparison screenshots and/or turntable of model in wire frame, AO and final rendered image. Please include software used and poly count where applicable.
