3D Artist

As a 3D Generalist, you will collaborate with members of the Data Center Virtual Reality Team(DCVR) to help build VR experiences of data center environments. We are establishing new workflows that utilize VR to improve the development process for a variety of teams.

As part of a small team that is still new and growing, you must demonstrate a collaborative working style, great communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a new area of technology.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
1. Create, edit, and optimize realistic 3D environments
2. Work with team/partners to establish CAD data is converted to meet the performance and memory requirements of the game engine and hardware.
3. Work with the Lead 3D Artist and Tech Lead to drive the core aspects of VR experiences.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Translate concepts and design ideas into 3D environments
- Participate in establishing pipelines for the best results in a given amount of time
- Participate in establishing and maintaining the high quality bar for partners
- Participate in scoping work for environment art planning and milestone deliveries
- Ability to adapt and assume new responsibilities should the need arise.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in 3D Animation, Game Design, or related discipline and/or professional equivalent 5-10 years of experience
- Portfolio/Reel of work demonstrating proficiency in modeling, texturing, shading/materials, lighting/rendering/compositing.
- 3+ years of 3D Production Artist experience
- Advanced understanding of Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush working experience
- 1-3 years experience with Unity or similar real-time game engines
- Advanced understanding of current game art pipelines and methodologies
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
- Self-motivated, flexible individual with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to proactively establish rapport, credibility, and influence throughout a highly matrixed organization.

Nice to have's:
- Knowledge of Substance Designer and Painter.
- Knowledge of real-time rendering tech.
- Understanding in creating PBR materials and rendering.
- Intermediate programming experience with scripting languages (MEL/Python/Etc) and shading languages. Experience in C# is a plus.
- Passion for playing and creating games.
