3D Artist / VFX Artist

The VFX Artist is responsible for creating and implementing high-end real-time visual FX. She or he must collaborate with the VFX team and workflow engineers to generate state of the art visual FX. The VFX Artist is expected to liaison with Design and other stake-holders to ensure their VFX meet the gameplay goals. The VFX Artist will also be expected to help define the VFX pipeline, while pushing the boundaries of real-time VFX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Translate reference and 2D concept artwork into VFX.
• Translate written and verbal direction into VFX solutions.
• Work closely with Design and Programming.
• Ensure the VFX meet necessary performance and gameplay expectations.
• Rapid prototyping of VFX utilizing varying techniques.
• Implementing high end VFX that run efficiently on target.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 3-5 years’ experience in videogame production or equivalent experience.
• A degree or diploma in Art or Design from an accredited institution.
• Deep understanding of real time VFX techniques and there pro’s and con’s.
• Ability to create content pipelines with ease of content creation in mind.
• Proven ability to work in photo-real art style.
• Expert in Maya, Unreal, and Photoshop.
• Mel or Python scripting experience.
• Working knowledge of shading and lighting for VFX.
• Expertise in Houdini, Realflow, Naiad, is a plus.
• Technically as well as artistically minded.
• Comfortably works with Design and Programming disciplines.
• Wants to push real-time VFX work to the next level. Thinks outside of the box.
