Creative Strategy Director

A small marketing team at a large F500 financial services company has a need for a Creative Strategy Lead to support their Credit Card products.


ROLE
Summary: The Creative Strategy Lead for Acquisition Marketing determines and executes the creative strategy and creative direction for all credit card acquisition efforts. This role establishes the messaging hierarchy, develops new creative, recommends creative test plans and ensures creative is on strategy, within brand guidelines and delivers against the established business objectives. The Marketing Program Manager will also provide oversight and strategic support to their digital partners in the development of new digital assets. This position will work closely with internal agency and external creative resources as well as print production to deliver creative on-time and on budget. The MPM will work closely with the product and marketing teams to prioritize work flow and establish annual creative calendar. The ideal candidate will have experience with credit card marketing, direct mail management and testing strategy, creative development, agency management and experience in digital marketing. This role will be a key partner with the Product and Marketing partners to bring the strategy and marketing plan to life through expert creative development and execution.


Job responsibilities: Job responsibilities for the position include (but not limited to) the following.

• Manage internal and external agencies to deliver creative strategy and creative execution of assets
• Write insightful and powerful creative briefs that inspire great creative
• Develop testing strategies, read results, and recommend actions
• Collaborate with product and marketing teams to support product/marketing strategy and product value proposition
• Manage project timelines; ensuring that all milestones stay on track and creative assets are consistent, on strategy, compliant, delivered on time and without error
• Ensure cross channel integration and consistency in messaging and communication strategy
• Serve as an influencer to raise the bar of creative excellence across the credit card marketing team

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years experience in marketing, including some credit card marketing experience
• Experience managing creative development and providing creative direction
• Master brief writer and ability to glean insights
• Digital and direct marketing experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing multiple agency engagements
• Credit Card or Payments experience
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects across a large matrix organizations
• Strong project and relationship management skills with the ability to roll-up their sleeves and execute programs with a low to moderate level of direction
• Highly detail and process oriented
• A naturally driven self-starter who can quickly identify issues and provide actionable solutions
• Persuasive presenter
• Adept communicator through both written and oral communication
• Ability to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
• Serve as an influencer to raise the bar of creative excellence across the credit card marketing team

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years’ experience in a direct mail, advertising, or communications management environment
• A working knowledge of the credit card industry/financial services industry
• Strong ability to proofread and provide copy edits in a highly regulated environment
• Competent across Microsoft Office Suite(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); strong PowerPoint design skills desired
• Strong project/relationship management skills with the ability to roll-up their sleeves and execute programs with a moderate level of direction
• Highly detail and process oriented
• Knowledge of direct marketing principles, print production and advertising best practices
