Creative Service Manager

The Creative Services Manager oversees and manages the planning, development and production of the company communications. The Creative Services Manager coordinates the research and development of a wide range of multimedia, electronic and/or printed graphic materials and campaigns, and is an integral element of an operation that functions as an in-house full service creative agency.

The Creative Services Manager carries out duties with direction, but minimal supervision; work is not subject to detailed verification. Also analyzes communications needs, develops systems and resources and recommends same where needed. Supervision is general and collaborative—particularly with job and priority assignments; direct supervision is by exception.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Initiates, coordinates and oversees the company's communications operations to include the timely, efficient and cost effective deployment, design, development, scheduling, trafficking, buying, production and printing of more than 1200 print, multimedia and Web communications yearly including effective, competitive and creative sales and marketing collaterals.

· Establishes and maintains good working relationships internally and externally to communicate departmental capabilities and support the communication efforts of company regions, departments and to enhance internal operations, improve quality of services and offerings and to communicate with stakeholders and the community.

· Manages central Communications budget; oversees expenditures, negotiation of mutually beneficial agreements with vendors and acts to reduce or contain costs. Monitors and establishes departmental production, record keeping and reporting procedures needed for efficiency and effectiveness.

· Manages and supervises design and production staff in the design and production of all projects. Maintains knowledge of the status of all projects and provides reports to the Director of Communications. Supervises daily schedule of office staff.

· Assigns projects to designers, assigns and manages timelines, budget constraints and printing specifications.

· Identify, bid, negotiate, track and manage vendor services and manufacturing processes including but not limited to printing, imprinting, photographic, graphic design, multimedia, web and mail. Ensure that buyouts are of high quality, and client expectations and deadlines are met.

· Estimate manufacturing costs. Recommend best quality, cost and time efficient formats and options and provide guidance and instruction to production staff and vendors.

· Coordinate collateral distribution to internal clients. Monitor usage, recommend printing quantities to clients. Manage inventory and maintain adequate levels of University-wide collaterals.
