Creative PM/Product Specialist

The PI Specialist is responsible for collecting all pertinent product details from the Merchant and Product Development teams for the creation of catalog, web and packaging copy. He/She will manage the administrative process of assigning copy to freelance writers, and tracks all projects to ensure that copy is delivered on time and meets the needs of all internal business partners, including the Copy, Web, Packaging, Product Development, Creative, CatMerch, Merchant and MerchOps teams.

Primary Responsibilities
• Manages timelines, schedules and resources.
• Follows up on all copy assignments.
• Tracks all PI/copy assignments.
• Communicates with copy team when unedited copy is ready for editing; informs Copy Director and Director of Content Development of pending editorial deadlines.
• Maintains awareness of production calendar and deadlines; works with Copy and Web teams to confirm that all product information is completed by catalog and web publication deadlines.
• Maintains naming log.
• Maintains PI library (on server); hard copy filing.
• Assists with product research, as necessary.
• Completes ad hoc projects as assigned by manager.
• Assists copy team in proofreading catalog spreads as schedule allows.
• Assists in tracking and circulating edited copy to merchant teams for approval.
• Releases final approved copy to web team.
• Supports web editors by researching and compiling line extension copy for web launch.

Technical Expertise:

• Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with computer systems (server, database, etc.).


• BA/BS required.

Skills Optional:

• Editing background.
• Prior PI experience.
• Prior retail experience.
• Knowledge of home furnishings industry.
