Creative Manager/Creative Leader

Vitamin T is looking for a Creative Manager in Toledo, OH. ONSITE, full time.

As the Creative Manager, you’ll lead all things creative, managing a team of 4 in-house graphic designers and writers, inspiring and mentoring them to do their best. You will drive creative concepts and content to ensure brand alignment. You’ll develop and recommend new commercialization approaches that will enhance and advance client’s brands and products. You will work with company leaders, translating our business goals and shopper needs into inspiring creative direction and designs. You’ll balance strategic smarts with excellent execution abilities, working with the teams to deliver programs and projects across a spectrum of print, digital, video and merchandising media. As the ideal candidate, you’ll embody the total package: Creative team development; exemplary design and production skills; the know-how to cultivate a collaborative and solutions-oriented creative environment; and the drive to improve work productivity and efficiencies.
Guides the creative strategies that drive our brands and the vision for all product lines and end users.
Leverages up-to-date knowledge of market trends, competitors and end-user needs to fuel the development of compelling, go-to-market programs and campaigns that achieve market success and promote business growth.
Provides effective leadership and mentorship, continually building the capabilities of the creative team.
Manages the day-to-day needs of the creative team, including project prioritization and tracking.
Works with project managers to ensure on-time delivery of programs and campaigns.
Develops and executes creative concepts and designs for various marketing communications programs, including brand campaigns, catalogs, brochures, brand and product advertising, and web- and e-based communications.
Establishes and maintains all creative standards, including processes, specifications and documentation to ensure quality, consistency and executional efficiencies.
Develops and executes annual creative plans.
Establishes and maintains creative KPIs.
Manages departmental creative budgets.
Works with contract agencies/recruiters to manage flex staffing needs.
Interacts with outside creative resources (agencies, designers, illustrators, photographers and graphic studios), as required.
Functions as the lead designer on brand and product initiatives, as required.
Manages pre-press activities, including file preparation, color matching and color corrections, as required.
Manages on-site press checks, as required.

A Successful Creative Manager Will Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Advertising, Marketing or related creative field.
10-plus years of experience in agency or corporate communication/creative services environment; at least 2 years experience developing and leading a creative team.
Strong people management and coaching skills in order to provide clear creative direction and to motivate and inspire the creative team to do their best.
Strong strategic, creative thinking and brainstorming capabilities.
A proven track record of execution and delivery of omni-channel solutions with strong concepts in both print and digital realms.
Desire and drive to stay current with technology and understand the latest design trends.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with freelancers/vendors and time/budget management.
Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
A basic knowledge of HTML5.
Knowledge of the building industry a plus.
