Creative Manager/Copywriter

Vitamin T has an immediate opening for an experienced Creative Director/Copywriter to work with at a fun outdoor retail company in the Metro Detroit area. This is a long term, contract-to-hire opportunity.

THE ROLE:
Looking for an energetic Creative Manager to oversee the creation and implementation of the creative aspects of online and print marketing pieces that are consistent with the company brand positioning and that engage with our customers, foster loyalty and expand our customer base.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assisting with the cutting-edge brand messaging to engage with customers in a meaningful way, foster loyalty and expand customer base
+ Overseeing the creative production for all marketing pieces in a way that is consistent with the branding and delivers required business objectives
+ Coordinating all the needed inputs to the creative process including copy, images, merchandising, promotional details, and production requirements by working with various stakeholders within the company.
+ Supporting the copywriting process by drafting web, catalog and email copy
+ Developing graphic designers to get the most and best, managing workload between resources, setting and communicating guiding goals, measuring accomplishments, holding associates accountable, diagnosing strengths, weaknesses and potential, giving useful feedback, delegating and developing, and coaching for today and for the future
+ Managing the catalog development process including developing the project plan, setting pagination and coordinating with the printer


THE REQUIREMENTS:
+ Online Portfolio is a MUST
+ Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in creative roles is required, preferably with a focus on digital design for ecommerce. Creative management experience is strongly preferred.
+ Experience in developing creative campaigns for digital, print and retail store channels is required, preferably in retail or ecommerce. Experience with creative production for ecommerce websites, email marketing, social media, catalogs, and retail stores is strongly preferred.
+ Must have a strongly honed design sensibility combined with an understanding of retail realities and the critical creative elements needed to build a brand and drive desired behavior
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, graphic design or a related field is preferred
+ Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite & HTML
+ Must be extremely self-motivated and able to exhibit out-of-the-box thinking to formulate new and creative ways of doing things, challenge assumptions, be comfortable with ambiguity, and have a future-oriented focus
+ Must have strong project management skills with the ability to foster a sense of urgency, be aggressive in pushing for deadlines and communicating issues, identify and overcome obstacles, as well as proactive in providing status updates on projects
