Creative Graphics Manager (working Designer)

Seeking an experienced Graphics Manager/Team Lead for our corporate client in Toledo, Oh.

The ideal candidate will have led a team of designers, either as an Art Director or Design Manager, and must be a print and digital-based designer themselves. This is a multi-faceted position, where the talent will work directly with the clients in distributing the work to his/her team, excel in project management, creative direction, art direction, as well as mentoring the other team members. Talent will work hands on, on the projects themselves.

In this PC-based environment, talent must be versed in both print and web design to handle a variety of projects, large and smaller scale, and also work with the core client base to sell the capabilities of the in-house team. The goal is to not only retain the project load, but to also get more projects done with the in-house team, vs. outsourcing to vendors and other external creative partners.

He/she will manage projects coming in from internal clients (marketing, digital and communications departments), as well as lead communication over shared projects with the external agency partners and/or vendors.

This candidate will be responsible for the following:
A) Personnel management (one on one management of the Production Artists/Graphic Designers)
B) Report on the individual team member's performance, handling day-to-day issues, review overall efficiency of the creative team, and help to promote the creative services department to existing or new clients within the company.
C) Help to establish new process improvements, and enhance the Creative Services Department with proposing cost savings opportunities (work to be done in-house vs. spending more money with external vendors) to decision makers
D) Provide exceptional customer service to clients
E) Provide Creative/Art Direction to fellow designers and initiate project scope
F) Handle discrepancies with invoicing and work directly with the customers to resolve

This is an ongoing contract position with Aquent. We will pay our talent on an hourly basis, and talent will be eligible for our premium benefits package.
