As our Creative Director you will be responsible for all creative operations at Guidance, including staff supervision and client deliverables. Direct the activities of subordinates to maintain the standards of creative excellence, timeliness, and profitability, while achieving client goals. Resolve functional conflicts through consultation with the Senior Director of Professional Services and Director of Technology. In addition, you will be called upon to prepare and present to C-level client contacts.

Essential Functions:

*Ensure the timely development and execution of plans, deliverables, and projects to assure earnings growth and profit goals are achieved for the creative department.

*Plan, develop, and defend budget recommendations, work goals, measurements, and training requirements necessary to provide both profitable and quality service to clients.

*Provide detailed information and cost estimates to assure accurate data on which to plan and develop functional objectives and budgets leading to stable and profitable accounts.

*Collaborate with and support other department heads effectively.

*Interview and oversee the recruitment of new staff; writes job descriptions and develops department career paths.

*Provide coaching/career planning/leadership/motivation and conveys the vision and values of the company to staff.

*Cooperate with the COO and department heads to resolve differences that may lead to discord in the office.

*Oversee creative consultations with project teams to assure appropriate creative strategies, adequacy/accuracy of input, schedules, budgets, production support, necessary reviews, and client presentations.

*Train and supervise staff of creative designers, UX designers and other specialists; oversees execution of all creative efforts to insure they are on strategy, on budget, and on schedule.

*Keep Account Managers aware of the use of outside services and materials to assure timely billing and to minimize write-offs.

*Coach and recommend staffing and compensation changes.

*Assure the staff adheres to established company policy/procedures, with special emphasis on the purchase of outside services (contractors).

*Maintain external professional relationships to assure the ongoing availability of specialized expertise, gifted freelancers, and reputable studios/producers when their services are required.

*Senior participation in new business presentations, proposals and pitches; work with Sales and Business Development teams.

*Execute duties and assignments as directed in compliance with corporate guidelines and objectives.



Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

*BA in Art, Design, Graphics, Human Factors, or related discipline; MA Preferred
*10+ years of professional design, UX, IA, UI experience
*Hands-on experience with responsive design
*Excellent presentation skills, able to present to C-level clients
*Proven success in creating innovative concepts for client web based projects
*Track record of selecting appropriate design, layout, and typography for client projects
*Knowledge of best practices in web design and IA
*In-depth knowledge of web site functionalities, interactions, usability, and navigation
*Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
*Comfortable presenting and exchanging ideas with C level professionals
*Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail skills
*Ability to lead team members; negotiate with peers, superiors, clients, and create a strong can-do orientation for all involved with project
*Willing and able to share knowledge with peers, colleagues, clients, etc.
*Self-motivated, customer driven and results oriented
*Knowledge of creative software packages, such as Axure, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, etc
