Creative Director- Must have management experience

Vitamin T is working with an exciting company in Pasadena who is looking for a Creative and Design Director to help move their business forward!

Must have managerial experience for this position. Must have a very clean aesthetic. Must be able to effectively communicate with outside and inside business partners.

Responsibilities:
Supports Sr. Design Director in defining design
Translates internal client goals to jr. team members
Provides unique design insights and solutions in collaboration with internal clients
Demonstrates expertise in managing design projects from concept to completion
Thoughtfully translates complex ideas and arguments into compelling visuals through an iterative process
Oversees and provides useful feedback to designers, illustrators, and other design specialists
Works collaboratively with senior design staff and copy writers, oversees relationship with developers
Responsible for maintaining brand consistency on client work and internal work
Oversees creation of final art, making sure it meets the specifications and requirements of the project
Responsible for job-specific vendor relationships and communication
Works with Operations to properly archive and manage design files

Qualifications:
Experience directing complicated and large scale projects
Expert in the use of typography, color theory, layout and communication across a wide variety of design deliverables (digital and traditional).
Excellent taste and experience producing and overseeing the production of on-brand imagery
Experience resourcing designers and independent contractors on a project
Demonstrates a critical user-based perspective for all design decisions

Requirements:
Strong portfolio across a variety of disciplines (digital production experience a plus)
5-7+ years of experience designing across multiple platforms, digital, social and print; campaign experience a plus
2+ years overseeing/managing jr. team members
Demonstrated strengths in creative thinking and a proven ability to express complex ideas provocatively through design
Able to communicate ideas effectively to and between creatives and non-creatives.
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite
Advanced knowledge of Keynote and PowerPoint
