Job Title: Creative Artwork Manager (Retail / POS)
Location: London
Start Date: ideally June 2014, will wait for right candidate
Placement: Ongoing freelance contract, rolling indefinitely

We are looking for a talented Creative Artwork Manager to join a fast-paced, dynamic client-side creative studio.

This team is responsible for the design and artwork of all POS, windows, loyalty mailings and campaigns for the brand.

The ideal candidates will have expert level technical artworking skills - ideally with a focus on POS projects, be able to manage artwork studio work flow, process and projects, be adaptable, engaging and an enthusiastic team player.

This role would be a good fit for candidates with solid retail Artworking experience, previous roles may have been Senior Creative Artworker, Artwork Lead, Artwork Manager Production Manager or hands-on Studio Manager.

This role is being offered as a long-term freelance contract, rolling indefinitely with no scheduled end date.

An appetite for hard work and a perfectionist eye for detail are key to success in this role.

- Manage a 6+ team of creative artworkers
- Support the Head of Design and design team by ensuring creative artwork is carried out successfully
- Co-ordinate the flow of all jobs through the artwork team
- Ensure the team is adequately resourced and has the right skills to get the job done

- Work with designers of all levels to translate their designs across various formats to artwork-ready files
- Ensure the artwork team produce print-ready files on time, to brief and in line with corporate guidelines
- Manage multiple jobs (approx. 100+ per week), reacting with pace to any changes of brief or workload
- Take overall responsibility for retouching and visualising
- Proof check and manage the quality of all final outputs
- Work closely with the Head of Production and the account team in delivering files
- Work closely with suppliers and printers to ensure deadlines are met and that material is printed to the highest quality
- Assist with design studio administrative duties and general digital housekeeping duties

- You will be a real team player
- You will be able to lead and motivate a team while overseeing and structuring the studio workflow
- You will have experience of managing studio traffic
- Your production, print techniques, retouching and visualising knowledge will be first rate
- You will have expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CS5 or 6
- You will have press pass experience
- You will have an organised, structured approach with excellent attention to detail
- You will be patient, positive and calm and work well under pressure
- You will be able to act on your own initiative
- You will have a flexible ‘can do’ approach

You will need to excel at team leadership and be confident making decisions when senior management are unavailable.
