Creative Account Manager

Aquent is actively recruiting for an Account Manager to support their client on a short term contract. The ideal candidate will work from May through August of 2014, with the possibility of an indefinite extension.

Reporting to Account Director, the Account Manager (AM) serves as the primary business contact for the client, and is responsible for client satisfaction. The AM is expected to consistently provide exceptional customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the communications organization to ensure quality. In addition, the AM will build relationships with clients to encourage collaborative creative opportunities.

Serving as the primary Communications contact for the client, the AM must understand strategic insights and business needs to manage business partner relationships and communications program plans to drive business growth.

The Communications group reports independently and directly up through the Chairman and CEO. This leadership position demands strong communications and collaborative skills to build and sustain relationships with the sales and marketing teams of the clients' businesses.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables.
• Ensures that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the Account Director or VP Communications of any problems that may arise.
• Communicates the client's goals and represent the client's interests to the team.
• Leads the planning brief process with the client, ensuring thoughtful and complete project planning.
• Creates the resulting planning briefs as well specific project briefs.
• Works closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
• Assists in coordinating, directing and monitoring creative work performed by external advertising agencies and other vendors.
• Ensures that all deliverables meet the requirements established in the creative brief.
• Facilitates and obtains required approvals within the client teams and Communications.
• Partners with Market Research and Communications analytics teams to ensure that campaign or project objectives are measured.
• Provides regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
• Maintains a general understanding of Communications’ capabilities and service, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client.
• Serves as the business expert within Communications including knowledge of client goals and objectives, specific marketing goals and objectives, competitors, and the industry overall.


FUNDAMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS
• Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance client relationships
• Extremely detail oriented
• Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc)
• Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator
• High level of initiative and work well in a team environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well
• Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction
