Corporate and PR Communications Senior

An energy support company in the Bay Area is seeking an accomplished Director of Communications who has at least 5-10 years of communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a software and consulting business who is comfortable across key communications vehicles such as website, newsletters, and key announcements. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.

Reporting to the Vice President (VP), Global Marketing. The Director of Communications will set and guide the strategy for all communications (internal and external) including public relations, product announcements and overall corporate messages that communicate the company value proposition.

Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across the company
• Develop compelling content that engages the company's target audience
• Develop communications that create momentum, awareness, and thought leadership
• Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all press releases, internal communications, and participate in joint marketing activities including print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and website(s)
• Coordinate webpage content maintenance—ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly
• Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual report, e-newsletters, and website content
• Work closely with the company's PR and Advertising agencies,
• Manage all media contacts

Qualifications
• Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies
• Experience in Energy, Energy Efficiency, Demand Side Management, Software and Petrochemicals-biofuels is highly desirable
• Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
• A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
• Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence"
• High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels
• Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including executives, staff, board members, and agencies
• Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
• Must be able to comfortably communicate and manage projects at all levels of staff and management in the company – all the way up to the executive suite.”
