Corporate Communications Consultant

This position is a Contract role designated to provide high level, strategic communications services and coordinate and produce tactics and deliverables identified in the strategic communications plans for the firm. This position will work under the supervision of the Manager of Communications. This individual will collaborate with staff, vendors and internal clients to achieve these objectives.

The scope of this role entails:
• Providing deep subject matter expertise in the requested field to achieve business objectives
around internal and external communications
• Analysis of problems and recommending strategies to client to achieve business objectives
• Leading cross-function teams in developing or reengineering processes using requirements
gathered from clients
• Responsibilities include formulating process remediation and implementation strategies;
preparing written assessments and presenting recommendations to executive level clients
• Facilitating organizational change through effective communication, building consensus and
creating complete and coordinated implementation plans

Work scope includes but is not limited to:
• 5-7+ years of related professional skill
• Writing copy, posters, PowerPoint presentations, web copy, photography, etc.
• Research, write, edit, and distribute content using established communication tools
• Implement communications plans and develops and reviews presentations
• Coordinate schedules, deliverables and production with internal and external vendors
including printers and graphic designers.
• Provide communications support at mandated meetings
• Provide communications support at emergency preparedness functions
• Attend community and after-hours meetings when required
• AP Style knowledge required
• Corporate Communications experience preferred
• Utility experience preferred
• All work must be done in accordance within firm policy and guidelines
• Demonstrated analytical and project management experience
• Strong business savvy and negotiation skills
• Extensive experience in business analysis and program implementation
