Exciting opportunity to start with a company on the ground floor! If you are looking for a copywriting role with a fun company, this is the job for you. The room for growth here is huge and this position would end up being a senior leadership role once the company is off and running. This Merchandising Production & Copywriting Lead will head up the Merchandising Department: organizing and executing photo shoots, crafting great copy, and uploading products to an eCommerce site. This client is a start-up company and is growing very, very quickly--they’re looking for someone who can build the Merchandising department and take them to the next level.

The salary is 40k, plus benefits and stock options.

• Lead the product uploading process from start to finish--work with the Account Team to acquire assets, modify lead product shoots, organize and write great copy, and upload to the site
• Own the photography studio--lead and shoot digital product photography of products, maintain cleanliness & equipment
• Capture the features, benefits, functionality uniqueness of each product, while conforming to their Style Guide and each Merchant’s individual aesthetic
• Ensure a consistently high level of technical quality throughout
• Manage editorial & creative content: craft company backstories, develop & execute product copy, write sales pieces, assist Social Media & Marketing team with promotional, blog and social media copy
• Work with multiple teams, including the Account & Social Media Teams, to plan shoot times, build & develop and a dynamic shooting calendar, and ensure strategies are executed
• Write great copy quickly and error-free

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, English, or creative writing
• Ability to work with an established voice
• Passion for the fashion industry--deep knowledge of emerging labels, designers, and brands, as well as current fashion trends
• 2+ years of digital studio experience or equivalent
• Fluency in the Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop & Illustrator
• Agency copywriting experience or equivalent
• Experience with Cannon photography equipment
• Experience with SEO is a plus, experience writing for it is ideal
• A love for the work--this is a time-heavy job
• Flexible and a team player--they are a start-up and you maybe called upon to assist other departments, including our Member Care Team
• Magento experience is a big plus--will be uploading to Magento
