We are seeking a Copywriter/Producer for the Girls Packaging Department working on various girl brands. This assignment is a 3 month assignment to start.
The department is looking for a Copywriter/Producer (project management). The copywriting piece is smaller, and the project coordination/production includes:  managing schedules, corresponding with our Hong Kong and China offices, tracking down product for photo-shoots . . . basically helping the creatives on the team with everything but design work.

Responsibilities are not confined to just writing as the Copywriter is expected to play an active role in the development content from beginning to end. In this role, the copywriter acts as a hub, gathering many opinions, sleuthing facts from multiple sources and interacting with many departments to turn all the information into effective communication.

To Fit this unique position an applicant needs two key qualities:
1) WRITING SKILLS, impeccable grammar, excellent spelling, ability to write persuasively and the ability to communicate in the appropriate tone and manner of the target audience.
2) PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS, responsible attitude, confidence, autonomy, proactivity and the ability to cast ahead and find what will be due (not overdue.) Writing skills are not enough unless they are partnered with proven complexity management.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Write compelling, persuasive copy
• Collect facts from multiple sources and accurately translate them to the package
• Manage complex schedules and track deadlines
• Develop toy names
• Oversee trademarking
• Lead strategy meetings with Marketing to obtain information about new products and segments
• Generate concept copy for toy package based on the strategy
• Proofread packages in development
• Write and coordinate the translations of copy for international packages
• Partner with all related departments including but not limited to, Marketing, Legal, Development, and the Asia team
• Manage schedule milestones
• Handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Submitting and organizing names for trademark searches
• Submitting and tracking documents for legal markings and legal approval
• Submitting packaging copy for translations and tracking finished translations
• Managing invoices
• Proofread final packaging layouts
• Partner with all related departments including Marketing, Merchandising, D&D, Costing, etc.
• Successfully handle multiple projects and product segments.

Experience and Skills:
▪ Experience with professional writing, demonstrating sound communication and strategy
▪ Experience working in a corporate environment and managing complex projects simultaneously
▪ Demonstrated ability to synthesize strategic messages and multiple opinions onto one clean package
▪ Proven ability to build relationships and work well in a team and with multiple cross-functional teams
▪ Demonstrated ability to problem solve, plan solutions and meet business objectives while managing personal workload
▪ Proven ability to communicate clearly and confidently within your own team and the cross-functional team
▪ Able to solve problems relative to schedules, naming/copy concept development and processes.
▪ Ability to track milestones accurately on many projects at once
▪ Ability to anticipate potential roadblocks and proactively find solutions.
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid presentation skills and ability to prepare concise, professional reports and presentations.
▪ Proven ability to work well in a creative team in a fast-paced environment

Education:          
• BFA/BS plus minimum 1-2 years related experience
