Copywriter (digital/print)

Major educational client is looking for a full-time, temp to perm digital/print copywriter.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Executive Creative Director, the copywriter will create compelling, on-brand copy for cross-media initiatives, including digital (emails, website, social), marketing and communication collateral (ads, direct mail, flyers, brochures), and assist with copy editing and re-writes to ensure brand alignment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely and effectively with the cross-media design team to develop creative concepts on key campaigns and initiatives.
• Collaborate on innovative ways to evolve all communications in keeping with brand voice.
• Integrate the big idea through multiple mediums
• Create compelling on-brand copy (and content strategy) for corporate branding projects, email campaigns, banner ads, messaging.
• Provide guidance and feedback to assist program colleagues in understanding the brand voice, a true steward of the brand.
• Work with the editorial services team to reconceive content for the intended medium and audience.


PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS
Internal Contacts:
• Maintains regular contact with marketing colleagues and program project leads to collaborate on project initiatives

External Contacts:
• Interacts with external vendors, creative agencies and design consultants
• Interacts with external constituents, as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• BFA (required)

Experience:
• At least 5 years of copywriting experience in the creative field
• Strong conceptual and writing skills
• Ability to create concepts and copy that deliver on creative briefs and align to business goals
• Experience at a brand level, or demonstrated experience working with brand standards and acting as a steward of those standards (possible even someone who’s work with creating brand standards in the past would be ideal)
• Ability to write web/online content (emails, landing pages, microsites)
• Experience with SEO
• Understands brand and the need to write for different audience segments in a consistent voice
• A solid command of the English language (grammar, spelling and vocabulary)
• Works well under pressure with a sense of urgency around deadlines
