Manager of Copywriting:
This job requires a hands-on manager with the ability to write, edit, and direct the content strategy and brand-consistent, written communication for a team of technical writers and creative copywriters. This job requires a unique blend of marketing and editorial skills to write compelling long-form and short-form content as well as product beneficial claims, nutritional values, and some legal. This role supports the marketing and communications department with B2C audiences.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Performs management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
2. Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
3. Edits and critiques work produced by the team for grammar, quality, accuracy and functionality. Applies plain language principles for clarity and impact.
4. Leads a team of writers and manages timelines, priorities, procedures and guidelines for project kick-off, creative writing process, review, editing and approvals. This team produces written content for marketing, sales, education and service communications including but not limited to case studies, web landing pages, blog posts, white papers, direct mailers, instruction guides, sales brochures, testimonials, enrollment materials, newsletters, print advertisements, emails and member letters.
5. Ensures all written copy adheres to brand compliance standards and uses a consistent voice. Trains others in style, voice and tone that fits brand style guidelines.
6. Collaborates on projects to confirm strategic direction and project objective with product managers, strategic marketers, creative designers, other writers and/or clients. Balance audience needs with editorial strategy.

Qualifications:
5 years of experience in Scientific Fields (Supplements, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device)
Proficiency collaborating with designers, creative directors, and strategic marketers
Excellence in writing for multiple audiences (examples: clinical/provider, consumer/member, and B2B/employer)
3 years of experience in a team leadership or supervisory role
Experience with marketing and technical writing for a health services company
3 years of experience proofreading and copy editing experience with an eye for detail
