Copywriter (Direct Response Marketing)

Provides copywriting support and develops original content for entire Marketing Department to maintain consistent brand identity     

Work activities/ context:
- Develops/maintains a Copywriting Governance Document in collaboration with various groups across the company and ensures standards are followed across direct Customer channels
- Develops/curates the authentic brand voice of the airline and ensures Customer messaging is on-brand, in-sync, on-trend, & culturally relevant across channels
- Reviews Customer-facing messaging going out the door to ensure design/content consistency
- Helps develops editorial content for publication in broad reach channels (email, blog, Magazine, etc) to better socialize & promote Marketing-related initiatives
- Helps manage messaging matrix to ensure that we’re presenting the most appropriate message to the right Customer at all times, via their preferred communication channel
- Collaborates with Revenue Management, Market Planning, and Department Planning to structure and effectively message weekly traffic and revenue offers
- Responsible for development of communication plan and distribution of sale fact sheets to appropriate work groups as needed
- Understand DOT advertising compliance rules for messaging sale offers and approval of creative
- Understand fundamentals of Revenue Management discipline as it relates to Sale Planning and messaging

Education:
- 4 year college degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field preferred.

Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a Communications/Copyrighting role required
- 1-2 years of experience in Direct Response Marketing (email marketing preferred)
- Must have superior oral/written communication skills
- Strong ability to concept creative ideas around marketing strategies while working within known constraints
- Demonstrate experience owning, applying, and ‘policing’ brand standards
- Have proven experience managing multiple projects with multiple clients and deadlines

- Must have extensive knowledge in specialized functions.
- Must possess a full understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Work may be done without established procedures.
- Must be able to work under consultive direction toward long range goals and objectives.
- Assignments are often self-initiated, and virtually self-supervisory.
- Must be able to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership within Company as well as outside the organization.
- Majority of liaison on internal basis with Team and Leaders on same level or one level higher often requiring coordination between organizations.
