Vitamin T has a client looking for a Copywriter for a 3-6 month project, at full-time hours.

Role Summary:
The Copywriter is responsible for developing effective copy that accurately and effectively informs, inspires and impacts the various strategic initiatives and priorities as well as contributing to the creative process on behalf of internal clients as well as institutional brand initiatives.


65% Copywriting
Develops creative, compelling and effective marketing copy that supports the university’s key messages, strategic initiatives, priorities and promotional voice to support the organization, internal clients and various projects including admissions, advancement, brand special events, projects, performances across the integrated marketing and communications mix.
• Maintains brand tone, voice, and style
• Works with clients and university communications and marketing staff throughout project cycle to incorporate changes, input revisions and ensure copy is up-to-date and accurate

20% Teamwork and Client Support
Works collaboratively with all areas of communications and marketing as well as clients from concept to completion to ensure effectiveness, impact and on-time delivery of quality content, messaging ad creative ensuring the project achieves milestones, supports goals and desired impact. Works directly with communications and marketing team as well as internal clients to help establish marketing tactics, identify objectives and effectively implement creative strategies.

10% Proofreading
Proofreads and fact checks marketing materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, typographical errors, AP Style and adherence to compliance guidelines. Responsible for editing copy to reflect changes on request and reviews

5% Subject Matter Expert
Resolves questions relating to copy, grammar, punctuation, branding, style, tone and voice within the context of marketing, messaging and brand voice across digital, print and broadcast media.

- Four-year college degree majoring in English, Advertising, Communications or Journalism
- Minimum four years copywriting experience in a direct response capacity or similar area

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a concentration in communications, journalism or related field
- Six years of experience performing copywriting duties within a corporate or agency environment or in-house agency environment
- Journalism, public relations or other professional writing experiences
- Marketing experience working in higher education

Knowledge and Skills
- Proven ability to write effective copy for deliverables across all communication channels (social, digital, print, web, etc.)
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Advanced knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation rules
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Ability to work effectively across organization at all levels with a diverse group of clients
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time are necessary
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent project management, time management and communication skills (written and verbal) in a deadline-driven environment.
- Creative brainstorming of ideas and concepts
- Interested in current events, commerce, popular culture and advertising trends and techniques
- Willingness to meet with internal clients to discuss their requirements and messaging
- Collaborator who works well in team environment
