To create an expression of the brand through compelling copy and brand stories that increase awareness of the brand, complement the packaging design, have a positive impact on sales and effectively communicate the breadth of product offerings. Candidate must be well organized with the ability to communicate ideas with team members. Experience developing copy for multiple media forms including print, packaging, web and radio/tv are a must. Candidate should demonstrate a clear understanding of brand strategy and development of promotional campaigns. Must also be able to manage and delegate workloads of at least 2 copywriters as well as their own. Should have a working knowledge of Adobe CS4 software and a solid background in Microsoft Office on both MAC and PC platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES




Supervise/mentor a team of junior and mid-level copywriters. Plays a lead role in the development of copy for multiple media forms and is chiefly responsible for writing television scripts for our QVC sector. Works closely with the Copy and Creative Directors, as well as marketing team on conceptual brand presentations. Excellent writing skills with a strong command of the English language, proper punctuation and grammar. Must be well versed in referencing the Chicago Manual of Style. Strong time management skills with the ability to simultaneously segue between multiple projects. Must have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with design and marketing team members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES



Leadership and supervision skills, with an ability to interact with people, multitask and respond quickly and positively to changing demands and feedback. Requires strong problem-solving skills, collaborative working style and mentoring of copywriters.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing or related field. 5-8 years copy experience working in an in-house creative department and/or external agency. Supervisory or managerial experience preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED and Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing or related field acceptable. 5-8 years copy experience working in an in-house creative department or external agency. Supervisory or managerial experience of a creative team strongly preferred.
