Looking for a copywriter with agency background. Experience with retail and financial writing with a colloquial style. B2B and B2C.

The work will involves heavy email, headlines and subject.

Under general supervision, the qualified individual will be responsible for producing descriptive or advertising copy for prospective clients. Should possess the ability to write clear, concise copy that offers a consumer the best information available to make educated buying decisions. Copywriters will develop product, technology, and market expertise in his or her writing categories, and will work closely with other members of the Content team, business management, client liaison, sales reps, and vendors.

Responsibilities:
• Develop highly effective, original and targeted long- and short-form copy for the promotion and sale of products and services.
• Research and provide the appropriate content assets required for products in his or her writing categories.
• Perform first-level edits of product descriptions written by other copywriters, correcting spelling and grammar as necessary.
• Take ownership of the products in his or her categories, with responsibility for completion, content, quality, and adherence to style and legal guidelines.
• Maintain a close working relationship with business management and clients, as well as outside sales reps and vendors, in his or her categories.
• Develop an expertise in the merchandise in his or her writing categories, as well as a working knowledge of related manufacturing processes, proprietary technologies, and product specifications.
• Compile, maintain, and utilize materials that help facilitate everyday operations, and actively seek out new efficiencies to effectively produce informed and consumer-focused descriptions.
• Step in and write copy across all categories as needed.
• Research, create, and utilize product attributes and templates (PAD) for universal representation and comparison shopping.
• Maintain an expertise in PAD, InfoZone, and Helpdesk functionality
• Write targeted advertising copy and client pitches, as well as fully researched articles such as buyer’s guides.
• Run reporting databases for teams as assigned.
• Handle special projects as assigned.

Success Measures:
• Produce (or exceed) the number of daily PIDs as set by the managing editor.
• Demonstrate attention to detail in first-level editing.
• Create all PAD data required for partner launches, site redesigns and parametric initiatives.
• Consistently meet or exceed all deadlines.
• Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
• Demonstrate teamwork and positive attitude.

Competencies: (skills, technical requirements, etc)
• College degree or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of professional writing and editing experience.
• Basic knowledge of HTML.
• Strong command of grammar, word usage, syntax, etc.
• Intermediate-level understanding of Word and Excel; basic understanding of Access.
• Expertise in search engines and other online research tools.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with partners, vendors, and personnel.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-intensive environment.
• A team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
