PURPOSE:
This position will write online product and email marketing copy that is engaging to the customer through tone, style, story and content.

This position will write fashion product copy that builds the brand through tone, style, story and content. Partner with merchants on ascertaining the details and fashion relevance of each product. Write engaging online product copy with the customer in mind. Actively curate the customer experience through patterning and partnering with Merchants and Creative Services to create the best branded environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand brand elevation goals and consistently drive towards on-brand copy
Translate Merchant objectives into a branded fashion voice, keeping the customer top of mind
Execute edits post merchant corrections
Oversee project workflow and ensure all deadlines are met with accuracy
Work with Directors and Managers to make sure copy is on-trend, on-brand, concise, compelling and cohesive
Contribute to naming projects and creative brainstorming
Research merchandise/product launches with merchants, the fashion team, and the market; actively collect and share competitive and industry patterning
May edit freelance copy according to tone and standards
Proofread copy to ensure clarity, accuracy and consistency of style

QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent writing skills with a strong portfolio dedicated to inspiring creative approaches
Attuned to the fashion industry¿aware of current trends in retail and publishing (blogs, social media, etc.)
Extremely creative writer who understands brand voice and is able to elevate and evolve copy
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and readjust priorities in order to meet deadlines
Self-motivated and independent thinker
Team player that partners across a creative team
Ability to work under deadline pressure
Ability to respond to feedback and synthesize complex information from multiple sources, translating it into creative solutions
Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail, as well as a holistic vision

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3-5 years copywriting or fashion/beauty editorial writing experience
Knowledge of fashion and beauty; intimate apparel an asset
MAC proficient: Word, Excel and pre-production program such as InDesign or Quark
Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style and AP Handbook
