The copy editor /proofreader is responsible for reviewing and editing all marketing materials for accurate
use of grammar and content. Will drive standards and copy style guidelines in collaboration with our team
and ensure education and implementation throughout the creative development process. Serves as the
final check for accuracy and consistency across all marketing materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review all marketing copy content submitted by the copywriters against required content submitted by the merchant teams
• Review and edit all marketing copy submitted for grammatical, typographical, composition and/or style guideline errors
• Initiate the development of copy style guidelines, relevant to our various marketing materials, and publish accordingly
• Assist supervisor in managing quality control of formats and standards
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and streamline work as appropriate
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet all deadlines

Job Requirements:

• 4-6 years experience in proofreading and/editing a retail advertising, editorial print or related field
• Ability to work with a high degree of concentration for hours at a time
• Able to work hours that align with daily project release schedules which peak in the latter part of the day
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style and punctuation
• Advanced knowledge of appropriate editorial style guidelines
• Strong knowledge of Macintosh
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision
• Well organized and flexible to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner
• BS degree required, preferably in English, Communication, Journalism or related field
