Under the general supervision of the Sr. Copy Manager, the Senior Marketing Copywriter will support the overall marketing messaging to this online retailer's consumer and will be a key member of the creative team that develops the look, feel and brand voice for the client. The candidate should be well-versed and proficient in developing communication to meet those needs in the form of marketing copy for the website, email, promotional and print projects. The candidate will be responsible for establishing a clear and differentiated brand positioning as well as promoting the company’s campaigns and key value proposition through the written word. In addition to the marketing copy responsibilities, this role will also partner with UX, Design and Development teams to define all customer-facing copy on the site to optimize customer satisfaction and conversion. This position requires a team-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• Experience writing for a leading consumer internet retailer in a manner that reflects the company's brand and marketing messages.
• Experience developing web copy for product promotions, web banners, email campaigns and other online promotions.
• Experience working as part of a project team to provide copy and guidance for new website experiences that are compelling, easy to use and conversion focused.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills via email, phone and in person.
• Familiarity and understanding of SEO copy best practices and ability to balance SEO needs with customer goals.
• Strong project management skills required with the ability to prioritize and manage work.
• A proven track record that demonstrates creativity, flexibility and an inquisitive nature with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
• The ability to process assigned responsibilities accurately and according to company standards and procedures.
• The ability to coordinate all copy and maintain consistency in tone, style and quality of work.

Qualifications:

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience writing marketing content for a B2C internet retailer; strong portfolio of work.
• Must be a creative thinker and exceptional writer with ability to generate new and original ideas; experience collaborating with marketing managers, product managers, user experience architects and designers to generate fresh concepts is a must.
• Highly flexible with the ability to adjust quickly to a variety of projects with competing deadlines.
• Responsible for key marketing copy development and execution across a wide range of media.
• Experience writing copy as part of a product development team focused on website usability and customer conversion.
• Conduct research as needed to complete writing and editing projects.
• Requires the ability to create standards, gain support and negotiate with other teams.
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong attention to detail with a command of spelling, grammar and punctuation as well as superior editing/proofreading skills; working knowledge of style guidelines (Associated Press and Chicago Manual of Style).
• Must be deadline-oriented and ensure timely delivery of work within tight timelines, with an ability to develop multiple solutions for a single assignment.
• Be able to manage day-to-day changes at every level of detail.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes a plus
• Experience with SEO copy writing will be an asset
• A can-do attitude, customer service-oriented and leadership skills.
• Support the Sr. Copy Manager in managing other writers.
• Cursory knowledge of HTML and web publishing; can easily adapt to content management systems.
• Bachelor's degree required; English, Communications, or Journalism major
