Responsible for the tactical development and collaborative design of communication elements (e.g. circular wraps, ROPs, in-store passouts, brochures, Web based advertising). Ensures that all created elements are compelling, customer-focused and in alignment with the business strategy and marketing objectives and meet approved “voice of the customer” standards. Responsible for the creation of assigned marketing copy elements for creative and standard product copy. Responsible for continually moving marketing communications forward in clarity, presentation and effectiveness, towards positioning of best in class.
Job Summary:
The Copywriter is responsible for producing copy material that acts as the voice of the SHC Brand by using independent judgement and discretion to create copy that engages customers purchase product. Copywriter plays a key role in influences purchase decisions of customers.​ This individual is responsible for writing copy for print collateral, point-of-sale, ecommerce, direct mail, public relations materials, and various internal projects.​ This position requires a high-energy, self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong multi-tasking, written and oral communication, organization and coordination abilities. Copywriter is responsible for original writing of product and/or creative format copy that will position SHC products and creative collateral as best in class.

​Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Copywriter must be able to apply learned writing techniques to both product copy and creative copy and must have solid experience in exercise of discretion and independent judgment in the crafting of unique copy for each product and/or creative format.

Copywritter must be able to make independent decisions in ambiguous situations regarding the tone and style of voice used in creating copy for each product and/or creative format.

Copywriter must have signficant knowledge of creating, editing, proofing copy experience

Write creative and standard product copy; maintaining spelling, punctuation and other quality and formatting standards for the in-house photography and digital asset studio.

Constantly measures messaging and execution against brand positioning and visual/voice of customer brand standards.

Assist in establishing creative standards/copy style guides and formats and ensure adherence to those standards in all produced work.

Serve as a liaison between Marketing Operations, Product, and Online staff to ensure new or modified language fulfills business objectives and speaks the customer’s language.

Work with Product Management, Online Marketing and Operations teams to develop copy for products.

Creates and develops concepts, presents concepts in conjunction with graphic designer to Creative Director and management, writes and implements approved concepts.

Ensures that all produced elements are meaningful to the customer, are compelling, and are in alignment with the marketing and business strategies.

Develops and implements assigned projects within given calendar and timeframe; accountable to meet deadlines.

Interfaces with agencies and internal partners, as needed to provide copywriting direction and implement concepts.

Assists marketing team in strategy development, communication and presentation of strategies and concepts to management and necessary stakeholders.

Seeks ways to improve processes/efficiencies and quality of output within functional area.

Flexible in responding to organizational changes and business priorities
