Copy Supervisor

The Copy Supervisor/Group Supervisor is primarily responsible for developing copy and concepts for payer communications that may include slide presentations, brochures, direct mail and digital. The Copy Supervisor is a detail-oriented person who has a proven ability to translate complex, scientific, and technical information into compelling, outside-the-norm concepts and on-strategy marketing deliverables in all media — both traditional and digital. A proven track record of professional copywriting and/or medical writing history is favorable. Experience and understanding of the managed market environment, oncology, and rare diseases is a plus. The Copy Supervisor must participate in team concept sessions, help reference and highlight copy, and attend all relevant internal project-related meetings.

Responsibilities include:
• Write medical and promotional copy where applicable
• Supervise and direct copy written by junior writers and/or freelance copywriters
• Work together with Creative and Account teams to provide creative, strategically sound solutions for client, in-house and new business needs
• Owns job from the beginning to end
• Constantly look for new, compelling copy presentation
• Clearly communicate information and direction to other writers as well as suppliers, freelancers, and editorial staff
• Participate in client meetings and presentations where applicable
• Submit complete, fully referenced and annotated manuscripts consistent with clients’ style guide on time and on budget
• Initiate data searches and maintain reference files
• Work closely with the art, editorial and traffic departments to ensure that projects are completed according to deadlines
• Present work in an organized and interesting manner

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 4-8 years of pharma agency writing experience to professionals, managed markets is preferred
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and “can do” attitude
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Experience in Specialty Therapies, Rare Diseases, and Oncology a strong plus
