The Production Coordinator is responsible for all logistics and coordination for students of the Garage Internship Vancouver program, while working with the Senior Program Manager to build apps and grow the next generation of developers and designers in Vancouver.
The Garage Internship program invites University students studying computer science, design & human computer interaction, and related fields to Vancouver for an internship like no other. This intensive program centers on building apps for newest and most exciting platforms and devices.
You work with the Garage Internship Coaches to coordinate logistics for their assigned teams taking into consideration all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from their first brainstorm about user stories to the moment when their apps appear in the Store.
Candidate Responsibilities:
Responsible for all logistics and coordination for students and the Garage Internship program
Acquires and manages hardware
Manages space allocation
Coordinate logistics and scheduling for on-boarding, boot camp, product/progress review, office hours, sprint reviews, team meetings, travel, morale events and all other intern activities
Assists with budget and expenditure tracking as needed
Manages end-of-internship process, on-boarding, returning hardware, badges, etc
Serves as back-up connector and problem solver for students when Garage team or coaches aren’t available
Proactively identifies risks associated with meeting intern’s project milestones; ensures appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties which may impede progress or compromise achievement of project objectives
Create and update information to provide ‘real-time' visibility of the development efforts they are managing
Communication and liaising with Finance, Facilities and IT teams
Create awards for interns using Garage Hardware
Identifies task-related processes to improve efficiency
Ensure a top quality consumer experience by acting as the customer advocate
Qualifications:
2+ years of production or project management experience in mobile app development games, website development, and/or services
Proven ability to use Illustrator, Photoshop is a key asset
Proven ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proven ability to blend business, creative and project management decision making
Proven track record of collaborating with multiple production teams (internal & external) that have successfully delivered your products to the marketplace
Excellent communication, ability to maintain high morale
Knowledge of UX and experience working with User Centered Design teams and principles
Ability to manage and work within ambiguity to reach a successful outcome
BA/BSc or equivalent work experience
