We are looking for a Visual /UX Designer with a depth of experience in iconography, layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, etc. to create emotional connections with our clients through icons, visual branding, graphic elements, and typography. You will be expected to balance digital design with an understanding of human responses to various types of imagery. You have a tech/software/apps background and 5+ years professional experience in Visual Design. This assignment is expected to last approximately 3 months.
Our client is the provider of the industry’s only enterprise-grade cloud management cloud-management platform, delivering a security checkpoint interface between employees and their cloud and physical computing resources.

You must be a master of the balance between form and function, you are a pro at developing user interfaces that engage - and retain - visitors. You are the wizard of icons. You're up on what the latest tech can do, and you utilize every last drop of designer-y goodness to deliver an experience that is both easy to navigate and gorgeous to look upon. Your experience functioning in an Agile environment is a major selling point.
You know the importance of putting yourself in the shoes of a user, and know exactly how to take an interactive project from soup (user analysis) to nuts (personas, site maps, taxonomies, and wireframes). The work is platform-agnostic, you will only be implementing, but possessing a knowledge of how Flex and HTML function would be a huge plus!
Duties:
• Ability to generate designs that are simple to implement in HTML, CSS and Flex.
• Expert level in design authoring tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
• Experience working with ICONOGRAPHY, design mockups, layouts, style guides and brand standards for interactive projects

Requirements:
• You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, you can change direction quickly, and you're eager to learn new skills as the need arises.
• Expert visual design skills (ICONOGRAPHY, layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns, asset production, etc.) in a consumer web context.
• Solid interaction design skills: experience creating wireframes, site/system flows, site architecture diagrams, prototypes, etc.
• Solid understanding and application of user-centered design principles with the ability to address complex design problems and provide sound design solutions.
• The ability to quickly understand the constraints of a design problem and identify the tradeoffs; you can communicate those tradeoffs to fellow decision makers.
• You are a good all-rounder, informed by thoughtful consideration around the philosophical and practical considerations that make great design.
• B.A., B.S. or BFA degree in a design related field.
• 6+ years experience as a key member of a design team participating in the complete product development lifecycle of a consumer web product.

This shop is a small but dynamic start-up environment. They are engineer-heavy, but absolutely open to design perspective and innovation. You should love learning and interacting with your peers and have the desire to be part of a strong design/development team and culture.
