Contract Specialist

Global technology brand has an exciting opportunity for a Contract Specialist to join their team located in Irvine, CA. This is an onsite contract to perm opportunity.

This position will be responsible for supporting Corporate Accounts and global solicitation activities. This position contributes in the bid review and risk mitigation assessment, contractual obligations and limitations, contract negotiations, contract management, contract administration and work closely with leasing , finance, insurance, legal, pricing, implementation and other aspects of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre and post sales contract processing, review and assessment to ensure legal obligations are met.
• Review solicitations to preliminarily identify, and document, the scope, business requirements, service requirements, finance, and price structure.
• Ensure legal and business risks are mitigated via proper contract documentation.
• Review contractual documents and performance requirements to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications and requirements, customer specifications, conformance to agreements and accordance with legal requirements.
• Identify problem areas and make recommendations, as appropriate.
• Structure contractual terms to company business strategy.
• Process tax documents, legal certifications/affidavits/representations, and other exhibits that may be required by bids or request for bids.
• Interpret contracts and document changes, as appropriate.
• Respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations, and revisions.
• Modifying vendor contracts to align with company policies in business and service areas.
• Routing contracts and modifications to the various functional areas as needed to determine compliance
• Draft contract amendments and updates.
• Assists with the formulation and implementation of company and contract procedures and processes.
• Ensures proper documentation for all contract approvals.
• Initiates documentation to summarize and communicate commitments in accordance with contractual requirements, Statement's of Work and other contract exhibits,
• Possible contract negotiations.
• Develop reports, identifying problematic trends and make correction as required by each situation.
• Work in conjunction with sales and marketing to ensure contracts are sound and compliant minimizing legal risks.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in contract administration and interpretation, including paralegal work.
• B.A., degree or equivalent experience in contract administration and interpretation, including paralegal work.
• Strong legal sense and previous work experience with large scale contracts.
• Working knowledge of contracts supporting commercial and the government a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Must have ability to make sound interpretations.
• Ability to negotiate with varying levels.
• Experience negotiation and drafting contract, resolving conflicts, coordination, and closing skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, SharePoint, Access and/or other enterprise document and file management tools.
• Experience with commercial and government contracting is favorable.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
