Contract Specialist

Our client in San Diego is looking for a Contract Specialist for a 6 month contract. For this role, you would be involved in the following:

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the legal review and negotiation pertaining to contract administration, negotiation and management for Company’s real estate and facilities department.
- Negotiate, draft and review contractual obligations to validate that all terms and conditions are sufficient and meet Company’s standard terms and conditions.
- Legal review of Procurement agreements for domestic and international real estate facilities including but not limited to service agreement, purchase and sale agreement, master purchase agreements, event agreements, and construction agreements.
- Interface with vendors, in conjunction with internal constituents, as the Company’s liaison during all phases of contract negotiations and performance including proposal preparation, fact finding, negotiation, contract administration, and contract closure.
- Collaborate and provide legal support to department’s Procurement leads, mission critical, design, facilities, admin., fitness, marketing, events, sustainability, legal and real estate team.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with vendors as the Company’s liaison for specific contractual matters.
- Escalate critical contract issues to management and other key internal constituents to ensure timely and appropriate resolution
- Draft, manage and provide legal support to various international divisions in connection with real estate facilities, service, purchase agreements and amendments.
- Analyze and assess potential impacts associated with contractual disputes, and assist in negotiations with clients, vendors and department’s Procurement team to resolve contractual disputes and negotiations.
- Provides oversight and direction, as needed, to ensure supplier compliance and contractual agreements and documents meet business terms, policies, and procedures.

Skills/Experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract language and understanding of complex contractual and business related issues.
- Legal and procurement experience in commercial environment. Procurement and legal experience negotiating terms and conditions and contract review.
- Team player and ability to work independently with attention to detail and excellent customer service.
- Candidate must be able to multi-task and handle a variety of tasks of varying degree of complexity. - Excellent verbal, written and oral communication.

Education:
- Bachelors Degree, Paralegal Certificate and/or Contract Management certification.
