We are looking for a contract Ecommerce Director to step into one of our fortune corporations clients within the entertainment industry for 3 months contract that may go longer. Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in managing online retail website(s) including ownership of design and operational aspects of online stores. Must be familiar with e-commerce software, such as Content Management Systems and Inventory Systems. As the leader of our e-commerce marketing team, this position is responsible for the end-to-end management of our direct-to-consumer store and online direct sales programs. Responsibilities include operational ownership of the site and performance, as well as developing, analyzing, reviewing, and recommending strategic and tactical changes to the site to drive online direct sales.


Position responsibilities:

• Responsible for ongoing e-commerce planning and development for direct sales channel, including:
o Work with internal teams and external vendors to enhance/upgrade e-commerce platform to a best-in-class customer experience for web visitors and call center agents.
• Understanding of web best practices and standards around e-commerce.
• Leveraging data and tracking resources such as Omniture to improve site performance and guide key marketing decisions.
• Implementing Omniture Test and Target to increase conversion rate and drive merchandising.
• Conducting usability testing and implementing enhancements.
o Manage third party e-commerce partner and overseeing platform development, performance and growth. Includes evaluation of current platform/partner and potential enhancements or re-platform.
o Increase conversion rate of site visitors to purchasers by:
• Optimizing the purchase flow
• Developing merchandising strategies
• Implementing promotions
• Creating sales strategies and solutions.
o Establish and maintain annual sales and marketing plans to ensure we achieve key sales, revenue and conversion targets.
o Interface with appropriate sales and product marketing personnel to enhance and integrate our merchandising and the quality of our online product catalog.
o Develop and write functional specifications and business requirements documents for IT.
o Implement timely pricing, promotion and inventory changes.
• Develop and execute online sales programs to drive radio sales, including but not limited to cart abandon programs, retargeting, affiliate platforms, referral programs, lead generation and prospect consumer acquisition.
• Communicate inventory availability:
o Recommend merchandising opportunities and operational support plans based on inventory levels.
• Responsible for related call center support and sales requirements, including, but not limited to, maintaining agent interfaces and documentation, supporting subscriber self-care features and assisting in sales and contact forecasts.
• Manage and develop direct team establish clear goals/expectations; evaluate performance and provide a learning environment.
Professional Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years experience in managing online retail website(s) including ownership of design and operational aspects of online stores.
o Must be familiar with e-commerce software, such as Content Management Systems and Inventory Systems.
• Experience in the planning, analysis and execution associated with inventory management.
• Ability to work with vendors, staff and all levels of management.
• Strong understanding of direct marketing techniques and tactics.
• General Skills
o Good project management and planning skills; Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
o Excellent written and oral communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
o Strong analytic skills, business judgment and the ability to make recommendations to senior management.
• Computer Skills
o Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
o Knowledge of web analytics platforms, such as Omniture or Google Analytics


Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
