Content writer/Project Manager

We are looking for a hybrid content writer and project manager for an amazing local hospital. The candidate in this role will be responsible for developing written materials to support the marketing team.
ABOUT THE ROLE: This is a 40 hour a week role starting ASAP on-site in Boston for a contract going until the end of November
• Work collaboratively with other team members to develop fundraising communication plans to different audiences.
• Project manage the planning and coordination of fundraising communication materials
• Translate complex medical and/or scientific information into clear, coherent and compelling statements for different audiences. Candidate also provides editorial support and strategic input for other proposals/funding concepts as appropriate. This role will also write and oversee cover letters and outreach letters, email communications, web content, brochure copy, scripts, reports and other written development materials as necessary.

• Collaborate with other editors, writers, designers, digital engagement staff and outside vendors to facilitate the development and delivery of integrated fundraising communication materials.

• Support the development and implementation of project management schedules for the conceptual creation and delivery of communication materials.

• Coordinate activities closely with team and contribute to the creation of strong working relationships within the department.
• Organize meetings, set agendas, communicate next steps to participants and monitors next steps to ensure projects stay on track and meet set deadlines.

MUST HAVES:

• Bachelor's degree and at least five years’ experience in writing
• Comprehensive knowledge of verbal and written English, and an ability to converse and write using proper grammar, sentence structure, and word definition. Strong editing skills in order to prepare and/or review reports, correspondence, and documents.

• Healthcare, insurance or Medical experience.
• Enthusiasm, ability to take risks, the courage to speak and act on convictions, intelligence, insight, initiative, resilience and the ability to act on his or her own initiative.

• Experience managing the production and integration of multi-channel media, such as print, email, Web, video and mobile devices.

• Ability to research audience needs, and manage the development of products and services to support these needs.

• Ability to write for multiple audiences in a persuasive voice.

• Ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with medical language and science.

• Strong relationship building and interviewing skills.

• Ability to work with and communicate with a wide range of people -- development office staff, hospital administrators and leadership, physicians and scientists, influential donors, prospects and others.

• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

• Ability to think conceptually as well as analytically in a fast-paced, complex environment. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Handle difficult situations with a sense of humor.

• Computer literate including familiarity with prospect tracking systems.
