Content Strategist

As a Content Marketing Strategist, you will work to build and expand online content strategies for our client.

You are part online trend tracker, researcher, planner and creative storyteller. In this role you will live and breathe

content and understands how it impacts B2B target audience segments, establishes credibility, and communicates

thought leadership. You will be leading the effort to build creative, new strategies for telling stories in a cohesive

multi-channel ecosystem that includes outbound media, native advertising, as well as clients’ websites or other web

properties and social networks. The position involves working with agency staff and the client to develop, present and

implement content plans and the creative briefs that are used to guide the development process. You will work

closely with the collaborative team to develop streamlined and meaningful user experiences across digital channels.

With a firm understanding of business goals, user needs, and digital best practices, you will help create effective

content strategies and deliver related artifacts (content audits, gap analyses, site maps and taxonomies, content

frameworks and testing plans, etc.)

You will develop a deep understanding of the customer base, and build knowledge of the competitive and business

environment in order to drive content strategy recommendations, becoming an advisor for clients and team


The Successful Candidate

You will have worked for or worked with an agency in the past. You are vocal, self-motivated, team-oriented, and

have a strong personal interest in understanding digital marketing technology, customer behavior, communication

channels (especially media, social and online/interactive), and strategy.


 Drive creation of strategic content plans

 Develop overall schema for organizing and developing content (e.g. hierarchy, lifecycle, etc.)

 Collects insights from competitive, social, customer research, data analytics and technology trends to inform

recommendations and strategies

 Author creative briefs to inspire creative teams

 Keep work on track by developing strategies jointly with client and creative stakeholders

 Presents strategic work to clients

 Familiar with B2B products, services, marketing automation, lead nurture concepts and high level business


Specific Requirements

 Live and actively participate in the digital world already (blogs, Twitter, etc.)

 Have a flair for writing, and also deeply appreciate the nuances of brand authenticity and voice

 Passionate about learning about new industries, topics and trends

 Eager to find how to tell client stories in a fresh and interesting way that's relevant to the online communities in

which clients play

 As much a visionary as you are a strategist

 Ideally, 2-3 years of experience as a content strategist

 Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills

 Knowledge and experience with content management systems (CMS) and functions and content migrations

 3+ years of experience in digital advertising, marketing, or related field, ideally with exposure to digital display


 Training and aptitude for getting into the minds and hearts of target audiences

 Team-oriented, collaborative approach, but willing and able to take overall responsibility for deliverables when
