This is a unique, contract-to-hire opportunity with a very current and eco-friendly company, seeking to hire someone into this position for the first time, so there is a lot of opportunity to help develop this role into something highly visible and very special.

In this position you will develop and coordinate marketing content initiatives across multiple platforms and formats (online and off) to drive sales, engagement, retention, leads and positive customer behavior. You will be the expert in all things related to content and channel optimization, brand consistency, segmentation, analytics and meaningful measurement. You will work with multiple internal stakeholders to help define both the brand story and be involved with the development of marketing content initiatives in all forms to drive new and current business.

In this position you will:

- be strategic and also "hands on" execution-oriented
- develop standards, systems, and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing
- ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, video, print and in-person for each persona type that engages with the brand.
- Have strong insight and understanding of the compliance and regulatory climate. Work within guidelines and make adjustments to content to comply as necessary.
- Assess, catalog and organize baseline content inventories both print and digital.
- Work with marketing managers to map out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why.
- Develop a functional content calendar that supports marketing initiatives and integrates content activities within traditional marketing campaigns.
- Develop campaign-friendly content to produce captivating promotional copy for campaigns and promotions
- Ensure consistent and timely publishing of content across all appropriate customer touch points and brand outlets to earn content engagement
- Ensure best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.
- Conduct ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness.
- Gather data and analyze to make recommendations based on those results.
- Work with owners of particular content to revise and measure specific content and marketing goals
- Leverage market data in collaboration with marketing managers to develop content themes/topics and develop assets that support a point of view and educate customers

- work closely with company's Creative Manager on all creative and branding initiatives to ensure a consistent message across channels.

You should have:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related communications field.
- Content solution design and implementation experience
- Editorial standards definition and content authoring experience
- Content migration planning and execution experience
- Content publishing and operational support experience
- A passion for content and its value to the business
- Understanding of digital enterprise solutions – and the online ecosystem within which they exist
- Exceptional communication skills: presentation, facilitation, oral, written, listening and conflict resolution.
- Deep knowledge and leadership in Knowledge Management, with expertise in taxonomy, SEO and metadata strategy
- A deep sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Strong consultative communications experience
- 3+ years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel content creation and strategy
- 3+years experience in creating/writing content for Web or other
 digital media
- Experience creating compelling messages for different target demographics.
- Expertise in major business software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Audience development and subscription strategies experience a plus.
