Content Publishing Assistant (Sports & Gaming)

We are currently looking for a Content Publishing Assistant to work for one of the biggest entertainment brands in the world, based in Reading.

The initial contract runs until the end of October 2013 with the option to extend beyond that date. The client has a generous benefit scheme which includes an up to 15% discretionary bonus, 25 days paid holiday and on-site subsidised cantine and gym.

The Content Publishing Assistant will need 6 months - 1 years worth of production experience in a publishing or other media company. Knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheets required. Must have the ability to manage daily workload. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. As Content Publishing Assistant, it is vital that you have a high attention to detail. Some editorial experience preferred. May require skills in HTML. Excellent communication and negotiation skills required. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or a related field preferred.

Required skills:


* A strong proficiency with content management tools and processes
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience of working in a deadline-driven environment
* Experience of working to schedules in a daily or weekly content publishing environment
* Proven working knowledge in creating content for multiple audience types in an online environment, preferably in the entertainment industry
* Experience & proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
* Intermediate Photoshop
* BA/BSc or equivalent
* Ability to absorb & note information in meetings and support Producer


* An interest or previous work experience in sports media
* HTML 5
* LUA / Flash Action Scripting knowledge
* Understanding in analytics and data trends for content
* Fluency in one more European languages beneficial but not essential
* Strong editorial skills, particularly an ability to write concise headlines and descriptions that adhere to tight character restrictions
* Degree in information management, communications, journalism or related discipline
