We are looking for professional music junkies with an eye for detail, a passion for data and a keen understanding of metrics. If you’re a stickler for reliable release dates, or it bothers you when people attribute There’s a Riot Goin’ On to Sly and the Family Stone rather than Sly & the Family Stone, then this is the gig for you. This job will entail curating and maintaining album collections and streaming playlists, cleaning customer-facing metadata for a large online music service, and building and maintaining the storefront.


Responsibilities/ Duties:
-Building and maintaining this Music store home page and genre pages
-Building out thematic album collections and track collections.
-Working within a CMS to clean artist, album and track-level metadata.
-Using metrics to merchandise music in a customer-facing music retail store.
-Negotiating with partners to secure compelling exclusives or competitive pricing.
-Writing artist bios and album reviews.
-Providing input as to relevant trends within your area of expertise.

Skills/Experience Request:
-Deep knowledge of music and the music marketplace and business
-Ability to think critically about music, and an understanding of how to translate those decisions into sales and a positive customer experience.
-Ability to analyze past sales performance, incorporate that with other, external signals to provide relevant programming for a large user base.
-5+ years experience within the music industry.
-3+ years experience working at an online retail store.
-2+ years experience working with music metadata.
