BASIC FUNCTION: The organizational communications senior communications specialist is responsible for developing story ideas and writing/editing editorial content to inform, educate and influence employee and field force audiences. Serves as assistant editor for multiple corporate media channels. Counsels internal business partners on how to best articulate business messages and align with corporate message priorities. Develop, track, analyze and report on metrics to demonstrate channel and program effectiveness. Supports communications programs and projects as required. Role is part of organizational communications team of communications consultants, editors and writers. Reports to assistant director – organizational communications media.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, journalism, public relations or related field. Minimum of three years experience in professional corporate communications, public relations, journalism or related communication field with a proven portfolio of business and news writing, editing and media management experience. Desirable qualifications: Strong professional communication skills and one-on-one interpersonal relationship building. Knowledge of web-based content management and publication. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment. Ability to grasp and communicate complex information quickly. Possess superior organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills. Ability to work closely with business partners at all levels of the company. Ability to guide the work of internal partners and outside vendors to achieve business objectives. Ability to integrate strategic communication plans into content planning. Knowledge of the financial services industry and experience with internal social media strategy development and execution are desirable, but not required.
