Content Licensing Coordinator

The coordinator will be assisting in all aspects of content licensing as we dive into large group of projects that will put out team over capacity.



• PURPOSE:

Responsible for implementing and directing research and acquisition process for print and digital 3rd party assets to be used in creating higher education product. Working directly with Manager, implement rights management policy and processes for all assets acquired. Collaborate with digital asset library team on implementing metadata, search criteria and uploading standards. Collaborate with authors, editors, and project managers on all assigned programs to ensure project execution on time and within budget. Ensure accurate data and interaction with systems (GPS)

• Enhance productivity, improve speed to market

• Responsible for management of plant dollars associated with assigned research projects. Cost management both operating and plant

• Responsible for meeting publication windows

• Process effectiveness and efficiency

• Maintain high levels of performance with emphasis on results and cooperation across functional and departmental boundaries.

• Understanding of various enterprise (GPS) and Higher Ed systems and data flows used in data tracking and reporting.

• Strong organizational skills

• Effective networking and negotiation skills

• Maintain flexibility in problem solving while maintaining a strict level of governance to avoid risk for company.


• DIMENSIONS: Provide specific dollars and/or unit measures which indicate the position’s impact or effect on the business (think in terms of revenue or expense dollars, staff size, etc.).

• Responsible for approximately over 3,000 permissions licenses per year

• Responsible for meeting publication windows and risk avoidance/compliance associated with approximately $20m in annual net sales.


• KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Describe the knowledge and skills needed for competent performance of the position. Specify why the knowledge or experience is required by referring to how it is used in performing the essential accountabilities.

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects

• 1+ years experience in project management and/or licensing

• Demonstrated experience with rights management of 3rd party content preferred

• Must be able to think strategically, negotiate and influence effectively

• Excellent team player with a strong background in collaborating successfully with internal and external partners to bring about successful execution of goals.

• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and deadlines while ensuring consistent forward progress on projects.

• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• COMPLEXITY: Describe the problem-solving and decision-making challenges presented to the position. Give examples.

• Strong communication skills required

• Managing multiple components with different levels of complexity

• Continual updating, and re-engineering of process for efficiency gains

• Ability to adapt to new initiatives (digital workflow, DAL, visual automation)
