We are seeking 4-Content Editors contribute to this work by resolving change requests submitted by hotels and internal sales teams into a work queue. These requests involve updating hotel descriptions and amenities within a deadline. They require editors to build a thorough understanding of a rich variety of tasks and to work with market managers, hotel partners, international content teams, star ratings teams, and geography teams. This role combines knowledge of a large content area in a leading technology company with solid customer-service skills. Candidates must have paid experience in writing or editing and must submit 1-2 short samples of writing and/or editing to be considered, unless they have previously worked on the Expedia content team. Responsibilities:

Help create new hotel content by capturing and confirming data about amenities and services.
Edit existing hotel content; address change requests, clarifying details when necessary, and making changes in appropriate parts of the descriptive text and bulleted attributes, while adhering to in-house style guidelines and answering a checklist of questions about the property.
Work efficiently towards daily targets and team metrics. Provide project support in other writing/editing/ tasks, as assigned .

Qualifications:

Strong writing/editing/organizational skills
Professional experience as a writer or editor

Work Experience and Education Guidelines:

2 to 3 years of editorial experience, preferably with e-commerce content development
Bachelors degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field

Core Competencies:

Common sense; ability to learn quickly and ask good questions, not those that can be answered in available documentation.
Excellent writing, spelling, and grammar skills, with strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
Ability to work and learn independently, as well as collaborate with larger teams
Excellent interpersonal skills, self-direction, and drive.
Ability to learn new software and technical processes quickly
Excellent organizational and quality-control abilities
Proven ability to resolve a high volume of work in a deadline-driven environment or work queue
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required
Experience working within Salesforce a plus
Experience with content databases and content management tools a plus
Fluency in non-English language(s) a plus
Experience in the travel/hotel industry a plus
