Content Curator

We are currently seeking a Content Curator to join our media programming team. This person must be a fanatical, passionate and voracious lover of all things content – someone with a deep knowledge of the vertical category they are curating – and whose point of view emanates off the page. He/she will be obsessed with finding the best content within category areas – to delight and wow our audience. This individual will have a maniacal attention to detail and except nothing less than pixel-perfect experience for our audience.

THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN LA: 2-9pm.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who is well versed in web and computer environments, responsible, meticulous, motivated and passionate about all things web. The candidate will be working closely with the programming and product teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review and create a content strategy for a specific content vertical as Curator
- Program the channel experiences based on constant pulse of what is relevant and interesting in particular verticals
- Identify and collaborate with key content partners that are critical to our robust content library to strengthen our programming
- Manage those partner relationships with key publishers, bloggers, influencers in the space
- Meet assigned deadlines in processing incoming video content
- Write, edit, & publish content, based on vertical relevance and day-to-day requirements.
- Self-review of content, for quality, style, presentation, of daily received content.
- Self-documentation and reporting of your tasks and engagements
- Field and studio-based production, along with video-editing experience

REQUIREMENTS

- Enjoys working in a fast-paced, goal-driven team environment
- Very strong online copy writing and editing skills
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and an aptitude for attention to detail
- Innovative and creative, curious and deeply familiar with the world of Web and online trends and memes
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK THE SHIFT: 2-9pm
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK AUTONOMOUSLY
- MUST HAVE ONLINE MEDIA EXPERIENCE

Desirable Qualifications:

- At least 2 years of experience managing or editing content and copy for high-traffic websites
- Experience with using Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Familiarity and experience with complex web content management systems, information architecture, SEM / SEO tools, faceted classification and metadata
- A broad knowledge of, and interest in, current events and pop culture
