Consumer Promotions Consultant

World premier Pharmaceutical company in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Consumer Promotions Consultant for a six month contract opportunity! Candidate must have heavy corporate CPG experience! Please refer to the full job description for more information about this opportunity:

Manages strategic development of promotional plans and delivers effective and efficient implementation of programs both offline and online for the assigned brands/categories within the Integrated Marketing Solutions team. Responsible for partnering with Brand Management teams and Finance to provide consistent and timely financial reporting of promotional spending.

Major tasks and responsibilities of position:
-Lead the planning and development of a clear, integrated promotion plan for assigned brand(s) consistent with brand’s approved promotional objectives and strategies
-Assists in strategic development of annual integrated promotion plans designed to achieve specific brand business marketing objectives. The position will require candidate to:
-Develop a comprehensive competitive assessment
-Evaluate brand’s prior year promotional efforts and provide implications for current year
-Proactively and flawlessly execute promotion plans both offline and online in a timely manner and within budget
-Manages outside resources and works collaboratively across agencies to contribute to the development of integrated support plans
-Manage timely, accurate and complete communication of Consumer Promotion programs to Business Development and Field Sales
-Analyze and review promotion performance and recommend improvements
-Monitor promotion budget, attend finance meetings and adjust budgets accordingly
-Manage Agreements and Contracts, including approval of material through Legal, Medical, Regulatory review meetings

Consumer Promotion is a key success factor, along with Advertising, Digital Marketing and Customer
Marketing for Consumer Care Division brands. Impactful Consumer Promotions have a large impact on individual brands and total Division volume and profitability. This position participates as a member of a category/brand team and contributes by implementing promotions directed at the end users of our products that lead to achieving short and long term brand business objectives. Contributes to the overall Marketing Department, the Integrated Marketing Solutions Department and the Division

Brand Managers/Business team: Provide functional support by developing and executing strategic business building promotion plans designed to drive profitable volume. Recommend new opportunities to achieve/exceed brand’s business objectives.
Assistant Brand Manager: Work in partnership with Assistant Brand Manager to develop and implement effective and efficient consumer promotion programs.
Customer Development Manager: Work in partnership with Customer Development to develop integrated promotions. Reinforce communication of national consumer promotions to Customer development ensure consumer and trade promotions are working together at the market level.
Legal: Interface with Legal, Medical and Regulatory as needed to gain proper approvals of promotion programs and materials.

Qualifications (education, skills, experiences and personal characteristics necessary for success in this position)
Capabilities
• BS/BA degree required, MBA preferred
• Minimum 7 years Promotions experience or relevant experience in the CPG industry
• Knowledge of promotion objectives, strategies and tactics
• Excellent planning, project management and budgeting skills
• Demonstrated strong analytical and creative skills
• Demonstrated positive team-building and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge ordinarily acquired from BS/BA degree (MBA desirable) plus

Key figures (Operating Budget, Turnover, Purchasing Volume, Project Cost, etc.)
• Relevant financial figure of a superior position: 1500 Mio. EUR per year Sales
• This position assists in the support of $8MM-$12MM in Consumer Promotion spending.
